Fault Code and MeaningCause and Remedy
ALE 1

Overcurrent

Cause:

Short-circuit at drive output (U, V, W), Motor wiring error, IGBT error, or Heat sink overheated.



Remedy:


  • Check wiring connections between drive and motor for short circuits.

  • Repair short-circuited wires and avoid exposed metal conductors.

  • Follow wiring steps in the user manual to reconnect wiring.

  • If heat sink is overheated or hardware is damaged, contact distributor or Delta.


ALE 2

Overvoltage

Cause:

Main circuit voltage exceeded maximum allowable value, Power input error (incorrect input), or Servo drive hardware damage.



Remedy:


  • Use voltmeter to check if input voltage is within rated specifications (refer to manual section 11.1).

  • Use correct power supply or stabilizing power.

  • If hardware is damaged after voltage check, contact distributor or Delta.


ALE 3

Undervoltage

Cause:

Main circuit voltage below minimum value, No input voltage at main circuit, Power input error, or Hardware damage.



Remedy:


  • Check if main circuit input voltage wiring is correct.

  • Reconfirm power supply and switches; ensure input voltage is normal.

  • Use correct power supply or stabilizing power.

  • Contact distributor or Delta if hardware is damaged.


ALE 4

Z Pulse shift

Cause:

Encoder is damaged or Encoder is loose.



Remedy:


  • Check Encoder for damage; repair or replace the motor.

  • Examine Encoder connector; install the motor again.


ALE 5

Regeneration error

Cause:

Regenerative resistor not connected, Transistor for regeneration disabled/short-circuited, Parameter setting error, or Hardware damage.



Remedy:


  • Check wiring connection of regenerative resistor and reconnect if necessary.

  • Confirm parameter setting and specifications of regenerative resistor; reset parameter.

  • If transistor is short-circuited or hardware damaged, contact distributor or Delta.


ALE 6

Overload

Cause:

Drive exceeded rated load, Control system parameter incorrect (Gain/Accel/Decel), Wiring error, Encoder damaged, or Incorrect U, V, W connection.



Remedy:


  • Check if drive is overloaded; increase motor capacity or reduce load.

  • Adjust gain value of control circuit if mechanical vibration exists.

  • Decrease Accel/Decel time setting.

  • Ensure all wiring (U, V, W and encoder) is correct.

  • Contact distributor if encoder is damaged.


ALE 7

Overspeed

Cause:

Wiring of motor incorrect, Encoder damaged, Speed input command unstable, or Over-speed parameter setting defective.



Remedy:


  • Ensure all wiring of U, V, W and encoder is correct.

  • Ensure input command frequency is stable; activate filter function (P1-06, P1-07, P1-08).

  • Correctly set over-speed parameter setting (P2-34).

  • Contact distributor if encoder is damaged.


ALE 8

Abnormal pulse control command

Cause:

Pulse command frequency is higher than rated input frequency.



Remedy:


  • Use pulse frequency detector to measure input frequency.

  • Correctly set the input pulse frequency.


ALE 9

Excessive deviation

Cause:

Maximum deviation parameter too small, Torque limit too low, Overload, Gain value too small, or Too much fluctuation of pulse command.



Remedy:


  • Increase the parameter setting value of P2-35.

  • Correctly adjust torque limit value.

  • Correctly adjust gain value.

  • Reduce external applied load or re-estimate motor capacity.

  • Adjust pulse frequency and activate filter function (P1-06, P1-07, P1-08).


ALE 10

Serial communication error

Cause:

Communication parameter setting defective, Communication address incorrect, or Communication value incorrect.



Remedy:


  • Check and correctly set communication parameter settings.

  • Check and correctly set communication address.

  • Check and correctly set communication value.


ALE 11

Encoder error (Position detector fault)

Cause:

Wiring of encoder in error/defective, Encoder is loose, or Encoder is damaged.



Remedy:


  • Check if all wiring is correct according to user manual.

  • Check if connections are tight and conduct wiring again.

  • Examine encoder connector and install motor again.

  • If encoder is damaged, repair or replace the motor.


ALE 12

Adjustment error

Cause:

Motor is running during adjustment, Analog input contact does not return to zero, or Detection device damaged.



Remedy:


  • Turn off the motor.

  • Measure voltage level of analog input; correctly ground analog input contact.

  • Check and reset the power supply.

  • Contact distributor if detection device is damaged.


ALE 13

Emergency stop activated

Cause:

Emergency stop switch is activated.



Remedy:


  • Check if emergency stop switch is On or Off.

  • Activate (reset) emergency stop switch.


ALE 14

Reverse (CWL) limit switch error

Cause:

Reverse limit switch is activated or Servo system is not stable.



Remedy:


  • Check if reverse limit switch is On or Off; activate switch.

  • Check control parameter setting and load inertia.

  • Modify parameter setting and re-estimate motor capacity.


ALE 15

Forward (CCWL) limit switch error

Cause:

Forward limit switch is activated or Servo system is not stable.



Remedy:


  • Check if forward limit switch is On or Off; activate switch.

  • Check control parameter setting and load inertia.

  • Modify parameter setting and re-estimate motor capacity.


ALE 16
IGBT temperature error

Cause: The drive has exceeded its rated load during continuous operation. (Check: Check if there is overload or the motor current is too high).



Remedy:

  • Increase motor capacity or reduce load.





Cause: Short-circuit at drive output. (Check: Check the drive input wiring).



Remedy:

  • Ensure all wiring is correct.


ALE 17
Memory error

Cause: Data error in Memory read-out / write-in. (Check: Reset parameter or power supply).



Remedy:

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.


ALE 18
Serial communication time out

Cause: Setting value in time out parameter is not correct. (Check: Check communication time out parameter setting).



Remedy:

  • Correctly set P3-07.





Cause: Not receiving communication command for a long time. (Check: Check whether communication cable is loose or broken).



Remedy:

  • Tighten the communication cable.

  • Make sure the communication cable is not damaged.

  • Ensure all wiring is correct.


ALE 19
Motor type error

Cause: Servo drive and servo motor do not match. (Check: Check the type of servo drive and servo motor and their combination).



Remedy:

  • Replace the servo drive or replace the servo motor.


ALE 20
Input power phase loss

Cause: Control power supply is in error. (Check: Check the power cable and connections of R, S, T. Check whether the power cable is loose or the possible loss of phase on input power).



Remedy:

  • If the fault does not clear even when the three-phase power is connected correctly, please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.


ALE 30
LCM hardware error

Cause: No display. (Check: Check if the 4th Pin of LCM is normal).



Remedy:

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.





Cause: Error characters display. (Check: Check if the related Pins are short-circuited and check if IC operation is normal).



Remedy:

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.


ALE 31
LED hardware error

Cause: LED indicator is abnormal. (Check: Check if LED is normal. Check if the transistor is abnormal and check if IC operation is normal by setting P8-09 to 2).



Remedy:

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.


ALE 32
KEY hardware error

Cause: The function key is disabled. (Check: Check if IC operation is normal by setting P8-09 to 1).



Remedy:

  • Activate P8-09 to perform the testing.

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.


ALE 33
RAM hardware error

Cause: LCM display is abnormal (disorganized display). (Check: Please check if the working voltage of RAM is normal).



Remedy:

  • Activate P8-09 to perform the testing.

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.





Cause: Function key is abnormal. (Check: Check if the transistor is abnormal and check if IC operation is normal by setting P8-09 to 3).



Remedy:

  • Activate P8-09 to perform the testing.

ALE 34
EEPROM hardware error

Cause: Store data error. (Check: Check if the operation of MCU or EEPROM is normal by setting P8-09 to 4).



Remedy:

  • Activate P8-09 to perform the testing.

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.

COMM hardware error

Cause: Hardware error. (Check: Check if the serial communication signal is normal).



Remedy:

  • Activate P8-09 to perform the testing.

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.





Cause: Communication parameter setting is defective. (Check: Check the communication parameter setting).



Remedy:

  • Correctly set parameter setting.


ALE 40
Initial setup error

Cause: Communication error occurs when initial setup. (Check: Communication initial setup has not completed yet. Please check if the communication serial signal is normal).



Remedy:

  • Correctly set communication parameter setting.

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.





Cause: Parameter read error when initial setup. (Check: EEPROM cannot read normally. Set P8-09 to 4 to test EEPROM and check if EEPROM is normal).



Remedy:

  • Activate P8-09 to perform the testing.

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.





Cause: Communication mode is error. (Check: Check if using ASDA series servo drive).



Remedy:

  • Please use ASDA series servo drive.


ALE 41
Communication receive time out

Cause: Not receiving communication data for a long time. (Check: Check if the communication cable is loose or broken).



Remedy:

  • Ensure all wiring is correct.

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.





Cause: Data receiving is not completed. (Check: Check if the serial communication signal is normal).



Remedy:

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.

Communication receive error

Cause: Checksum error. (Check: Check if the checksum of the receiving data is correct).



Remedy:

  • Verify the sending and receiving data format.

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.





Cause: Checksum error. (Check: Check the communication quality).

  • Please contact your distributor for assistance or contact with Delta.

Error communication response address

Cause: Receive the error communication response address. (Check: Check if the sending and receiving communication address are the same).



Remedy:

  • Check if the communication setting is correct by using P8-05.

  • Verify the sending and receiving data format.

Cause: Respond the error communication command. (Check: Respond the error Modbus command).



Remedy:

  • Verify the sending and receiving data format.

Communication parameter address error

Cause: Respond the error parameter address. (Check: Check if the sending and receiving communication code are the same).



Remedy:

  • Verify the sending and receiving data format.

Communication parameter content error

Cause: Respond error parameter content when reading parameter. (Check: The data length of the content is error).



Remedy:

  • Verify the sending and receiving data format.





Cause: Respond error parameter content when writing parameter. (Check: The data content is in error).



Remedy:

  • Verify the sending and receiving data format.


ALE 47
Drive specification error

Cause: Parameter SAVE operation is in error. (Check: Use P8-13 to check if the specification stored in the memory block match the actual servo drive specification when executing SAVE function).



Remedy:

  • Select the unused memory block to save the parameter.

  • Delete the memory block.





Cause: Parameter WRITE operation is in error. (Check: Use P8-13 to check if the specification stored in the memory block match the actual servo drive specification when executing WRITE function).



Remedy:

  • Select the correct memory block.


ALE 48
Fast editing function error

Cause: The function of static and auto-tuning is in error. (Check: The setting of P2-32 is incorrect).



Remedy:

  • Set P2-32 to Manual mode.





Cause: The function of dynamic auto-tuning is in error. (Check: Execution time out or the function is not executed completely).
