Lenze SCF Drive Fault Codes:
| Fault Code and Meaning | Cause and Remedy |
|---|---|
| AF High Temperature Fault | Cause: Ambient temperature is too high; Cooling fan has failed (if equipped). Remedy: Check installation environment and cooling fans. |
| CF Control Fault | Cause: A blank EPM, or an EPM with corrupted data has been installed. Remedy: Perform a factory reset using Parameter 48 – PROGRAM SELECTION. |
| cF Incompatibility Fault | Cause: An EPM with an incompatible parameter version has been installed. Remedy: Either exchange the EPM, or perform a factory reset (Parameter 48) to change the parameter version of the EPM to match the parameter version of the drive. |
| dF Dynamic Braking Fault | Cause: The drive has sensed that the dynamic braking resistors are overheating and shuts down to protect the resistors. Remedy: Allow resistors to cool. Check sizing of braking resistors or duty cycle. |
| EF External Fault | Cause: TB-13A and/or TB-13C is set as an External Fault input and TB-13A and/or TB-13C is open with respect to TB-2. Remedy: Refer to Parameter 10 or 12. Check external wiring. |
| GF Data Fault | Cause: User data and OEM defaults in the EPM are corrupted. Remedy: Perform a factory reset or replace EPM. |
| HF High DC Bus Voltage Fault | Cause: Line voltage is too high; Deceleration rate is too fast; Overhauling load. Remedy: Check line voltage. For fast deceleration or overhauling loads, dynamic braking may be required. |
| JF Serial Fault | Cause: The watchdog timer has timed out, indicating that the serial link has been lost. Remedy: Check serial communication wiring and master controller. |
| LF Low DC Bus Voltage Fault | Cause: Line voltage is too low. Remedy: Check input power source and fuses. (Fault clears when voltage returns to normal). |
| OF Output Transistor Fault | Cause: Phase to phase or phase to ground short circuit on the output; Failed output transistor; Boost settings are too high; Acceleration rate is too fast. Remedy: Check motor wiring and insulation. Check boost settings (P11) and acceleration time (P01). |
| PF Current Overload Fault | Cause: VFD is undersized for the application; Mechanical problem with the driven equipment. Remedy: Check drive sizing vs motor load. Inspect driven machinery for jams or friction. |
| SF Single-phase Fault | Cause: Single-phase input power has been applied to a three-phase drive. Remedy: Check input power connections. Ensure three-phase power is applied. |
| UF Start Fault | Cause: Start command was present when the drive was powered up. Remedy: Must wait 2 seconds after power-up to apply Start command if START METHOD is set to NORMAL. |
| F1 EPM Fault | Cause: The EPM is missing or damaged. Remedy: Install or replace the EPM. |
| F2 – F9, Fo Internal Faults | Cause: The control board has sensed a problem. Remedy: Consult factory. |
| br DC BRAKING | Cause: The DC braking circuit is activated. Remedy: Status message only. Normal operation during DC injection braking. |
| cE Configuration Error | Cause: An EPM from a drive with a previous parameter version is installed into a new drive, and an attempt is made to change any parameter settings. Remedy: The parameters cannot be changed until the Translate function is performed (parameter 48, setting 06). |
| CL CURRENT LIMIT | Cause: The output current has exceeded the CURRENT LIMIT setting (Parameter P25) and the drive is reducing the output frequency to reduce the output current. Remedy: Reduce load. If the drive remains in CURRENT LIMIT for too long, it can trip into a CURRENT OVERLOAD fault (PF). |
| Er ERROR | Cause: Invalid data has been entered or an invalid command was attempted. Remedy: Check range of parameter being entered or command sequence. |
| GE OEM Settings Error | Cause: Attempt made to change the OEM default settings when the drive is operating in the OEM mode (see Parameter 48). Remedy: Disable OEM mode if changes are required. |
| GF OEM Data Corruption | Cause: OEM defaults in the EPM are corrupted (displayed when RESET OEM is attempted or upon power-up). Remedy: Refer to Section 13.1 (Manual Reset/Troubleshooting). |
| LC FAULT LOCKOUT | Cause: The drive has failed three restart attempts. Remedy: Requires a manual reset (STOP command). |
| SE SERIAL | Cause: The optional remote keypad is active as the user interface instead of the buttons on the front of the drive. Remedy: See Parameter 14 – CONTROL to change control source. |
| SP START PENDING | Cause: “SP” blinks during the interval between restart attempts. Remedy: Wait for restart timer to complete. |
| (Symbol) DECEL OVERRIDE | Cause: The drive has stopped decelerating to avoid tripping into an HF fault due to regenerative energy from the motor. Remedy: Drive will resume deceleration once DC bus voltage drops. |
